Miriam Salzsieder

Miriam Salzsieder, 88, Fargo, died Tuesday, November 18, 2003 in Bethany Homes, Fargo. Miriam M., the daughter of Judson and Helen (Holmdahl) Bowen, was born March 5, 1915 in Edgeley, ND. She graduated from Edgeley High School. She attended Ellendale Normal College after which she taught grade school in a county school near Edgeley. Miriam married Harold Salzsieder on Dec. 24, 1938 in Edgeley. The couple lived in California, Florida, New York before moving to Mundelein, Illinois where Miriam and her husband worked on the Windward Thorough Breed Farm from 1960 until 1985. Miriam was the business office manager at Windward Farms. They retired and moved to Oldsmar, FL. in 1988. Her husband died in 1991. She moved to Fargo in May of 2000. She is survived by one niece, Amy (Jason) Smith, Fargo; one nephew, Todd Smith (Karla Olson), Fargo; two great nephews; one great niece; and one sister-in-law, Iris Bowen, San Lorenzo, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; sister, June Smith; and brother, Merwin Bowen. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Mavis Whiting Chapel at Bethany Homes, Fargo. Burial will be in Curlew Hill Memory Garden in Palm Harbor, FL.
