Morris died on Friday, January 23, 2004, at the Hillsboro Medical Center Nursing Home at the age of 88.
Morris was born on May 7, 1915, the son of Julius and Clara (Christianson) Larson, in Bloomfield Township, rural Hillsboro, North Dakota. He grew up in this area and attended country school. He began working on the family farm with his father at a young age. After his schooling he was united in marriage to Esther Pratt on September 13, 1937, in Moorhead, Minnesota. Together they worked on various farms before settling near Hillsboro, in the spring of 1941. They made their home in Bloomfield Township where they farmed for many years. Morris retired from farming in 1976, but kept active on the farm working with his son for many years. Esther passed away on February 28, 1984.
Morris loved spending his days with his family, friends, and neighbors. His great love was hunting and fishing with family and friends, and woodworking – making many keepsakes for everyone. He also was a life long member of Our Savior??s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro where he was confirmed in 1930.
Morris is survived by his loving children, Lynn (Delores) Larson of Hillsboro; Betty (James) Kolanczyk of Carrollton, Texas ; Pamela (Don) Lawrence of Fargo, North Dakota; and Paulette (Bruce) Bowersox of Hillsboro; 4 grandsons, Tim Larson; John, Morris, and Miles Duffy; and many nieces and nephews.
Morris was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Esther; his infant granddaughter, Heidi Lyn Larson; and his brothers and sisters, Mamie, Hazel, Florence, Louie, Alice, Howard, Clyde and June.
FUNERAL: 11 AM Monday at Our Savior?s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro
VISITATION: 5-7 PM Sunday with a prayer service at 7 PM in Wildeman Funeral Home in Hillsboro – and one hour prior to the funeral in the church on Monday
BURIAL: Riverside Cemetery in Hillsboro
