Norma E. Bratland, Fargo, ND, died Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at age 84 after a recent illness.

Norma was born February 10, 1927, at Nome, ND to John and Anna (Fischer) Kolrud.  She attended Nome school.  She married  LeRoy Bratland on November 21, 1944, in Moorhead, MN. They farmed near Nome and later moved to Enderlin  where Norma did housecleaning. Upon retirement, they moved to Fargo, ND.  LeRoy died April 4, 1997.

Norma is survived by sons Ron Bratland, Fargo, ND, Rick Bratland (Denise), Wixom, MI, Brad Bratland, Fargo, ND; daughters Vicki Gipple, Fargo, ND, Merry Kellerman (Larry), Leonard, ND, Judy Zins (Florian), Flasher, ND, Bonnie Thilmony (Gary), Enderlin, ND, Lori (Ray) Monson, West Fargo, ND, Teri Bratland, Fargo, ND;  21 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy; son, Steven; parents, Anna and John Kolrud;  sister, Ruth Baarstad; and brother, Arthur Kolrud.

At Norma's request, any memorials should be sent to the St. Petri Cemetery Fund.

  6. Nesodden NorwayNorma was a lovely woman. Since we met in 2008, we used to have long chats over the phone. In spite of health problems and the tough life she had had, she was a very positive woman with a great sense of humor. She raised her ten children under primitive and difficult circumstances. And I know the children loved her so much.
