Norman Orlan Liudahl was born November 5, 1920, on a farm near Davenport, ND, the only son of Oscar and Julia Olson Liudahl. He attended Enger Country School, graduating from Davenport High School in 1938. Upon graduation, he began farming with his father, later taking over the farming operation, remaining on the same farm for 76 years. Norman was a member of Norman Lutheran Church and was active in choir, Sunday School and Church Council. He was a member of the Boy Scout Troop of Davenport and spoke often of the Boy Scout Jamboree in Washington, DC; he also served as Scout Master of the troop. Norman enjoyed sports and participated in tournaments in independent baseball, horseshoe, bowling and trap shooting. He held various offices in Kindred Lion’s Club and was known as a collector of pens from over the United States and Canada. He loved performing in community theatre productions. Norman had a great love for young people and would be found entertaining them at gatherings. On February 12, 1971, Norman married Agnes Robertsdahl Gylland at Faith Lutheran Church, West Fargo, ND. The couple made their home on the farm until 1996 when they moved to West Fargo. They wintered in Arizona for 25 years, enjoyed their lake home on Long Lake, MN, and travels to Hawaii, Norway and Germany with cruises to Alaska and Panama Canal. Norman is survived by his wife, Agnes, and sisters Alice (Elder) Erickson, Fargo, Hazel Labatte, Lake Park, MN, and Mildred (Gerald) Nordquist, Washburn, ND, and several nieces and nephews and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be at Faith Lutheran Church, West Fargo, on Sunday, August 16th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00pm. The Funeral will be Monday, August 17th, at 11:00am at Norman Lutheran Church, rural Kindred, ND. Burial will be at Christiania Cemetery, rural Kindred.
