Obituary

Norman Rheault, 86, Fargo passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at Essentia Health.

Norman was born October 14, 1933 in Horace, North Dakota to Louie and Alberta (Lavalle) Rheault. After Norman finished his schooling, he went to work for Edgewood Golf Course for a short time. He began working at Broadway Pure Oil for 7 years in Fargo before entering the service, where he was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1955. He started working for BF Goodrich in Fargo as well as construction for a couple years with Northern Improvement. He worked for WW Wallwork Dealership as a Service Manager and was employed there for 33 years, retiring in 1993. He continued to work helping his friends in the spring and fall with farming during his retirement.
He married Joan Nicolai on June 1, 1957 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Moorhead, Minnesota.

Norman did a lot of woodworking and donated his birdhouses to the local Thrift Stores. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Fargo VFW, American Legion and was an active member of St. Mary’s Cathedral.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joan, Fargo; children, Michael (Linda) Rheault, Fergus Falls, Minnesota, Richard Rheault, Grafton, North Dakota; grandchild, Laura (Josh) Rogers, Mandan, North Dakota; 3 great-grandchidren, Dylan, Owen and Wyatt Rogers; siblings, Phyllis Grandbois, Fargo, North Dakota, Alphe (Gloria) Rheault, Fargo, North Dakota, and Arlene (Gordon) Gilberts, West Fargo, North Dakota.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings; Denise (Harry) Wheeler, Mae Rheault, Edward (Marylou) Rheault and Milton (Joy) Rheault.

    Sorry to hear about the passing of Norm. When Joan & I worked together at the First National Bank in Moorhead, always enjoyed visiting with Norm at the bank Christmas parties. Then when I started in the auction business , would get to see him on occasion.
