Oliver W. ?Ollie? Ordahl, 96 of Fargo, ND, formerly of Grafton, ND, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo. Oliver was born on November 20, 1912 in Grafton to Ivar and Runa (Severson) Ordahl. He was a graduate of Grafton High School and the Hanson Diesel School of Minneapolis. He worked in Grafton for local farmers and did road construction for Walsh County. On November 21, 1940, he was united in marriage to Dora Raumin. He was drafted into the Army in 1942. Oliver served in the European Theatre, 714 Tank Battalion, 12th Armor Division. He was in the Battle of the Bulge and attained the rank of Technician 4th Grade. He returned to Grafton after the war and spent over 40 years working at the Grafton Developmental Center holding several positions. He retired as Director of Buildings and Grounds. Oliver served on the Grafton City Council, was a member of the American Legion Post #41 and Grafton Lutheran Church. He is survived by his daughter, Carol (Marvin) Haugen of Casselton, ND; 6 grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike) Rhode of Burnsville, MN, Kyle (Amy) Ordahl of Savage, MN, Vicki (Darrell) Dimmer of West Fargo, Mary (Jim) Kunz of Grand Forks, ND, Stacey (Brian) Carlson of Fargo, Jeff (Beth) Haugen of Fargo and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dora; son, Douglas Ordahl; daughter, Wanda Ordahl; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Ordahl and by his brother, Raymond. Oliver?s family would like to thank everyone at the Pioneer House Assisted Living Center, where he had been living the past six years, for their wonderful care and friendships. Memorial Service: Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Elim-Pioneer House Chapel, Fargo, ND with visitation one hour before the service at the chapel. Interment: Grafton Lutheran Cemetery, Grafton, ND. Arrangements entrusted to Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
