Patti Lehmann

Patti Lehmann, 54, was welcomed home to heaven on October 28, 2010, surrounded by many loving family members and under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. We will forever be amazed at the strong will and positive attitude she demonstrated every day in her battle against cancer.

Patti Marie Lien was born May 21, 1956, to Donald and Arlene (Cullen) Lien. She graduated from Shanley High School in 1974. In 1977 she graduated from NDSCS with her LPN nursing credentials.

On June 11, 1977, she married Paul George Lehmann; they made their home in Fargo. They welcomed into the family their daughter, Melissa, in 1979; and their son, Michael, in 1981.

Patti was gifted at taking care of others' physical and spiritual needs. She served as religious education coordinator at St. Anthony's Church, Fargo, for several years. She returned to nursing in 1991, joining the cardiology department at Innovis Clinic. She was a member of the nursing team at Riverview Place for a short time before returning to where her heart was in the Innovis cardiology department. Patti was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, serving as a deacon for many years, and also filling roles on the social committee and serving as a scripture reader.

Patti is survived by her husband, Paul Lehmann; son, Michael Lehmann; daughter, Melissa (Erik) Uetz; grandson, Harris Uetz; parents, Don and Arlene Lien; brother, Bob Lien (all of Fargo); brother, Rick Lien (Big Toad Lake, MN); nephew and niece, Erik and Amanda Lien; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and countless friends.

Patti is preceded in death by her father- and mother-in-law George and Marie (Gast) Lehmann; her maternal grandparents, Thomas and Alvina Cullen; and her paternal grandparents, Myron and Adeline Lien.

Our family would like to deeply thank those who provided Patti with such loving care throughout her illness. Our sincere thanks goes out to everyone at the Innovis Cancer Center, Hospice of the Red River Valley, and to her parents Don and Arlene who welcomed Patti into their home to care for her during her final days. We will be forever grateful.
