August 14, 1923 - December 07, 2016

Pearl passed away on December 7, 2016 at Bethany Retirement Living in Fargo at the age of 93.

Pearl was born on August 14, 1923, the daughter of Joe and Jenny Hoekstra in Barnes County, ND. She attended and graduated from Greenland High School. Pearl was united in marriage to John H. Anderson on October 12, 1943 in Marion. Together they farmed until their retirement. She was a lifetime member of Marion Lutheran Church and was active with the Marion School PTA.

Throughout the years she loved to spend time bowling, gardening and farming, cooking, baking, fishing, camping, spending time with her children and grandchildren and sporting and musical events, and collecting spoons. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker and cherished her family time. She had an unwavering faith and treasured many of the lifelong friendships she made. She was kind, loving, and had a gracious way about her and an infectious smile.

Pearl is survived by her children – Dennis (Jan) Anderson of Elkhart, IN; Wayne Anderson of Fargo, ND; DeLynn (Jeff) Anderson-Hino of Albany, OR; Sherri Reidman of Fargo, ND; Jenell Christianson of Moorhead, MN; and Lori (Bart) Goeson of Moorhead, MN; her grandchildren – Chris (Tracy) Anderson, Jessica (Justin) Carter, Laura (Eddie) Merryfield, Dustin Reidman, Kelsey (James) Murphy, Alecia Anderson, Brady Goeson, and Keisha Christianson; and her six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers – Norman Hoekstra of Gold Canyon, AZ; and Paul (Barbara) Hoekstra of Ogden UT. She was preceded in death by parents, her husband, her brother Roy Hoekstra, her sister Eva DeVries, her infant son Russell Anderson, her granddaughter Brandon Perrine, and many extended family members.

A special thank you to Bethany Homes Memory Care Staff. Memorials are preferred to the Michael J. Fox Parkinson’s Foundation in Pearl’s memory.
