Pearl Tobiason, Fargo, died at the Elim Care Center on Sunday, September 19, 2004, at the age of 92. Pearl Tesch was born to Nicholas and Minnie (Peters) Tesch on June 10, 1912 in Minonk, IL. She was orphaned at three years of age and placed in an orphanage in the Chicago area. She was emancipated in her teens to do domestic work. She married Erling Tobiason of Hatton, ND in 1952. She moved to Evanston, IL where she worked as an orthopedic garment maker and fitter. This led to owning her own business called the Bobbi Ree Shop. She retired from there in 1974 and moved to Moorhead, MN in 1975. Erling died in 1976. Pearl began volunteering at the Moorhead Manor and eventually came to manage the facility for many years. She retired from there in 1980. At that time she began to do full-time quilting, knitting, and needlework. She taught the crafts to many people over the years. In one year she made over 400 quilts and gave them to Our Savior?s Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN for the Lutheran World Relief. Pearl had unbounding generosity and love toward all children. Her giving heart was evident throughout her life. Pearl was preceded in death by her husband and eight siblings. She is survived by several nieces and nephews and three sisters-in-law. A Memorial Service will be held at Elim Care Center at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, September 22, 2004. Memorials are preferred to Churches United for the Homeless. Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
