Obituary

Peggy Ann Weaver died at the age of 68 on 14 May 2017, in Hospice of the Valley, located at St. Joseph Medical Center, Phoenix, AZ. Peggy was born on 10 July 1948 in Fargo, ND to Freeman and Fern (Shannon) McDonald. She graduated from Shanley High School in 1966. She received her Nursing Degree as a Registered Nurse from NDSU in 1984.

She began her nursing career at St. Luke’s Hospital, which later became Meritcare. She worked in both the clinic and hospital. She made her biggest impact working in Oncology and Palliative Care. She was known to be an extremely empathetic and compassionate nurse that treated all her patients as if they were her own family. There have been many testimonials from families of how well Peggy took care of them as well as their loved ones.

In 2007 she moved to Surprise, AZ with her husband David but continued to summer in the Detroit Lakes Area. She loved spending time with family and friends and treasured every moment spent with their nine grandkids with whom she was always amazed and loved so dearly. Peggy loved to golf, read, do crossword puzzles, play Mahjong and piano. Her real talent was in crafts, which decorated their home and can be found in the homes of her many friends and loved ones. She was a beautiful kind hearted genuine loving person.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 25 years, David, her brothers Tom McDonald (Barb) and Jerry McDonald (Judi), sister Maureen Lawrence (Brian), son Jon Renteria (Jennifer), daughter Brook Renteria (Travis), stepson Michael Weaver (Erin), stepdaughter Dawn Marie Derby (Chad), grandchildren Killian, Brady, Victoria, Brianna, Tyler, Hannah, Hayden, Jackson & Emma, Brother in-law Tim Weaver (Kim), Sister in-law Dee Weaver.
