Obituary

Peggy Sue Miller, 58 passed away peacefully at home in Moorhead MN, on Friday March 8, 2019. Following complications from an unexpected illness, surround by her family.

She was the first of three children born to Alfred and Judith (Simonson) Miller. She was born in Hankinson ND, at St. Gerard’s Hospital on July 9th, 1960. Baptized March 5th, 1961 and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hankinson. She attended and graduated in 1978 from Hankinson Public School. After graduation she went on to further her education and graduate with an associate degree in Graphic Arts, from the State College of Science in Wahpeton, ND. But that wasn’t enough for Peg, she moved to Moorhead MN where she made her home, and worked her way through College receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications from Moorhead State University in May of 1995.
Peg worked various jobs through college, before taking a permanent position at the Fargo Forum in the Creative Department where she was employed for 23 years until her health issues kept her from continuing. She loved spending time at home in her garden then canning what she raised especially those pickles which she ended up giving away to friends that loved them, raised Blue Mason Bees, grew grapes to make wine but the birds seem to enjoy them more, loved butterflies, even planted milkweed for them. She had a love for animals especially her little black dog Chewy, (her little man about town). Then there were those visors she had on in every color and shade you could imagine.

She is survived by her life partner Julie Stoller of 27 years Moorhead MN, her mother Judith (Wayne) Hockert, Brandon MN, a sister Jody (Michael) Taxdahl, Hankinson, ND, nephew Tyler Taxdahl, West Fargo ND, niece Danielle Miller, Fargo ND, uncle Harlan (Roz) Daman, cousins, Julie (Marty) Abel, Michelle (Brian) Gunderson, Judy (James) Hennessy, and James (Min) Trittin. Julie’s family Gevene Stoller (Julie’s Mother), siblings Kathy, Mary Bob, and Emily.

She is preceded in death by her father, Alfred Miller, sister, Jacklyn Miller, her maternal and paternal grandparents; aunt’s, Sandra Daman and Delores Trittin, and her cousin Lori Widlund.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will take place in the spring.

On behalf of the family of Peg we would like to thank those at Sanford Medical Center that helped in caring for Peg and those from Hospice of the Red River Valley, for all your kindness it’s very much appreciated.

I had the honor to know and work with Peg at The Forum for many, many years. I always admired Peg for her commitment and hard work to make the product the best it could be. I am a better person for having known her and I will miss her.

It’s been years since I had the enjoyment of her world-famous pickles. She made the best I ever had.

I had the privilege of working with Peg at The Forum for many many years. I worked in Classifieds and Peg created a lot of our classified ads that were printed. She was a very hard-working and dedicated employee and always went the extra mile to help us get our ads in print. She was so fun to chit chat with and get to know. I am so very glad to of known this fine person and since my retirement I visited with her on the phone a couple times. I do so miss seeing her and her smiling face. My sympathies to Peg’s family. RIP dear friend. 🙏🏻
