Rachel Jordheim, age 90, of Fargo, died on January 1, 2004, at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo. Rachel was born on September 24, 1913, the daughter of Oscar and Minnie (Hatlie) Hackey, near Colfax, North Dakota. She grew up in this area, attended school, and graduated from Colfax High School. She then furthered her education graduating from Valley City State Teachers College in Valley City, North Dakota. Rachel taught in area schools for a number of years before her marriage. She was united in marriage to Randolph Jordheim on November 8, 1941. They made their home in the Walcott area where they farmed and raised their family. Randolph and Rachel moved to Kindred, North Dakota, in 1982, and spent many winters in Mesa, Arizona, during retirement. Randolph passed away in 1989, and Rachel moved to Bethany Towers in 1999, where she has lived since. Rachel was a longtime member of the Walcott Lutheran Church. Rachel is survived by her loving family - her children, Maxine (Terry) Saul of Lakeville, Minnesota; Roger (Cheryl) Jordheim of Carlsbad, California; and Harlan (Jackie) Jordheim of Walcott; her 8 grandchildren, Robert (Kristin) Saul; Jason Saul; Josh Jordheim; Jenna Jordheim; Zac Jordheim; Lee (Reile) Jordheim; Nick Jordheim; and Jennifer Jordheim; and her great granddaughter, Courtney Saul. She is also survived by her brother, Newell Hackey; and her sisters, Arline Hudson, and Deloris Schlener. Rachel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and twin sons.
