Raymond Martin, surrounded by loved ones, passed away on July 14th, 2021, at the age of 93. Ray was born and raised in Lefor, ND. He became an avid businessman in multiple avenues, including Skelly’s Truck Stop in Mandan, ND. He was an active church member and enjoyed coffee with friends after church and he was a 4th degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. He had a beautiful voice that he enjoyed sharing as part of the choir or when watching movies at home. He never met a stranger and was an engaging storyteller to all those around him. Ray was a devoted family man and friend who will be missed by many. Ray is survived by his wife Johanna, and children: Shari (Mike) Petryszak, Shirleen (Mike) Hieb, Bryan (Valerie) Martin, BettyLou (Scott) Gion, Shannon (Rob) Gronowski, Shelly (Steve) Schmitz, Tim (Liz) Martin, LaRae (Doug) Paulson, MaryJo (Jens) Andersen, 23 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and brother Nick (Evie). Ray is preceded in death by his parents, 5 siblings, first wife Margaret (Sickler), and a great-grandson. A Prayer Service will be held at Boulger Funeral Home at 7:00 pm on Friday, August 6th, (rosary at 6:30 pm) with visitation starting at 6:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 7th at 10:30 am at Sts. Anne and Joachim Catholic Church in Fargo. In lieu of flowers, donations to Shanley High School, Fargo or St. Mary’s High School, Bismarck. The services will be live streamed on the funeral home’s website. Billings Pumpkin was his favorite and while making he would always say needs more pumpkin. He was a great caring and kind man . He will be missed by so many.   11. Ed and I are so sad to hear of Ray’s death. We have such found memories of him.I go all the way back to when Marge , my Sister, first started dating him. He had such a funny sense of humor and we had so many laughs and fun times with them. He loved his family and he was very proud of all of you. Our prayers are with you ,Johanna, and all of you. We both want to be there at the funeral but Ed can’t travel well. Love, Ed and Jo
