Richard Schneiderhan Fargo, North Dakota Richard passed away on July 3, 2006, at Rosewood on Broadway in Fargo at the age of 60. Richard was born in Waukon, Iowa on February 12, 1946, the son of Clement and Elmyra ?Jimmy? Schneiderhan. He lived there until 1953 when he and his family moved to Little Falls, MN and then to Fargo, ND in 1958. Richard became very active at the Developmental Skills Center with Friendship Inc. in 1981. He later worked for the Ground Round, Fudrucker?s, the Kelly Inn, and finally the Olive Garden. Throughout his life he enjoyed taking part in the Special Olympics and Ray Shelton?s Boy Scout Troop. Dick also played softball and was a Special Olympics bowler. Richard continued to live in his own home after his mother?s death under the guidance of his caring staff from Community Living Service. He touched many lives and brought laughter to many hearts. He was a prankster and a ham. His smile was as big as the sky. His favorite color was yellow. His favorite song was ?Silent Night? which he sang all year long. He loved the moon, yellow smiley faces, ?Lassie? dogs, bears, babies, suitcases on wheels, swimming, hugs, dancing, and peanut butter and jam. He was stubborn, resilient, tenderhearted, playful and imaginative. He liked cruising through Lindenwood looking for bears. Dick liked to help. He liked things to match. He didn?t like to hurry. Dick was good at being Dick. He taught us patience, unconditional love, and his vocabulary for how he viewed the world around him. He was, and continues to be, a wellspring of delight for those who knew him. He will be missed. Dick most recently lived at Rosewood on Broadway since March of 2005. Richard is survived by his sisters, Kay Kundert of Fargo; and Susan Schneiderhan of Minneapolis, MN; and his brother, John (Mary Lou) Schneiderhan of Bloomington, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents.
