Dick Stilson has been a hero of mine since my family visited his in Iowa in 1948. I was 9 years old, and Dick took my brother John and I for rides on his motor scooter. It was a real thrill for a 9-year old, and Dick was his always cool and caring self. His Mom, Genetta, and our Dad were double cousins and the best of life-long friends. Their discussions are legendary in our family, and we were kept up-to-date because Dick’s and Bill’s exploits were often discussed. What marvelous memories. What a family, and what a guy! He will be greatly missed, but always remembered.
