Fredrick W. Ricker, 81 of Fargo, died Thursday, December 11, 2008 at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo.
Fredrick was born on August 31, 1927 in Hope, North Dakota to I.E. and Ethel (Clausmen) Ricker. He served in the Merchant Marines for 2 years and then joined the U.S. Army, serving from 1951-1953. He married Marjorie Watson in 1951. Following his military service, he farmed near Page, ND from 1954-1956. Fred moved to Fargo and was employed with Larson Welding Machinery for 33 years until his retirement. He married Lenora C. Frank in 1963.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wives; grandson, James Adams, Jr.; brother, Johnny; sister, Edith and son-in-law, Larry Cottar.
Fred is survived by his children, Belinda Cottar of White House, TN, Steve (Rhonda) Ricker of Smyrna, TN, James (Barbara) Ricker of Twentynine Palms, CA, Susan Wright of Madison, TN, Kathy (Dan) Ronningen of Fargo; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph (Jean) Ricker of Fargo; sisters, Florence (Raymond) Wasness of Northwood, ND and Eleanor (Wayne) Richards of Finley, ND.
Visitation: Monday, December 15 from 5-7 pm at Boulger Funeral Home,
Fargo and one hour prior to Mass at the church on Tuesday.
Prayer Service: Monday at 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
Funeral Mass: Tuesday, December 16 at 2:30 pm at Church of the Nativity,
Arrangements entrusted to Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
