Rita Leshovsky, 71, Fargo, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Manor Care in Fargo.

Rita LuAnne Johnson was born to Raymond and Lorraine (Moen) Johnson at Delamere, North Dakota on September 12, 1942. She grew up in that area, attended schools there and graduated from High School in 1960.

On January 19, 1963 she married Allen Leshovsky at Delamere Lutheran Church, Delamere. They lived in Barney and Milnor North Dakota before moving to Fargo in 1963. Rita had worked at the Fargo Eagles Club while raising her four children.

Rita loved the outdoors, watching birds, and enjoying the beauty of flowers. She also loved listening to music and spending time with family and friends.  Most of all, she adored her grandchildren and loved being Grandma.

She is survived by her husband, Allen, Fargo; her children, Mark, Fargo, Mike (Danielle), St. Michael, MN, David (Ann), Hawley, MN, and Diane Christensen, Fargo; 8 grandchildren, Taylor and Brynn Leshovsky, Grant, Aiden, and Holden Leshovsky, and Allen, Trevor, and Jesse Christensen; sisters, Cherryce (Gerald) Neiber, Lidgerwood, ND, and Vikki (Larry) Heley, Lidgerwood, ND; brother, Bradley Johnson, Milnor, ND; sister-in-law, Teresa Johnson, Mandan, ND. Rita was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Layne and Lyle Johnson.

  4. federal way waOne of my favorite childhood memories was staying at grandma’s farm and walking across the field to visit the Johnson family. Rita and I enjoyed exploring things along the creek that flowed in front of their house. Rita, her parents and siblings will always have a special place in my heart. My condolences to her husband, children and grandchildren.

    We are sorry to hear the passing of Rita , she was always such a nice person to know and be around. I remember going to country school at Herman #1 in Hamlin with Rita and her siblings and walking home after school. When I was a freshman at DeLamere and Rita was a Senior, Rita rode to DeLamere with me. God Bless all your Families.
