Robert Lee Alexander was born September 10, 1937, in Slope County, Amidon, ND, the son of L.E. (Doc) and Ethel Lang Alexander. He attended Slope Center grade school and moved to Bowman, ND, for high school. He enlisted in the Navy in 1954 and served two years. Robert Lee was a fun loving person who enjoyed life and practical jokes (water fights, etc.). In recent years, he would make remarks to those of us who have white hair and let it be known that he still had his black hair! If you were in need, he would give you whatever he had. He will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marylea; his son, Marcus; one brother, Phil; and four sisters, Fern Spethman, June Wahl, Doris Egeland, and Dorothy Voigt.
Survivors include his beloved friend and caregiver, Janice Holte of Fargo; his daughter, Jewel Shoberg of Ham Lake, MN; twin grandchildren, Cameron Paul and McKenna Elisabeth Shoberg; one sister, Gail Melcher of Laurel, MT; one brother-in-law, Clair Voigt of Rhame, ND; one sister-in-law, Shirley White Alexander of Tempe, AZ; several nieces, including Kay Spethman Reiten of Spanaway, WA; several nephews, including Craig Egeland of Rhame, ND; and several cousins.
