Robert C. Jacobs, 90, Minnetonka, Minnesota, passed away in Moorhead, MN on November 10, 2008. Robert was born on September 15, 1918 in Minneapolis, MN to Ray C. and Olga S. Jacobs. He grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from Roosevelt High School. Robert served in the Army in Europe for four years during World War II. Robert had the task of clearing out German chemical weapons. When he left the service he joined Texaco, where he worked as a Zone Manager, Sales Trainer, and was in charge of Real Estate. Robert worked in the Twin Cities, Eau Claire, WI, Mitchell, SD, and Minot, ND before returning to the Twin Cities where he retired after 34 years with Texaco. Robert C. Jacobs and Eulalie Koehmstedt were united in marriage on August 20, 1949 in Minto, ND. Robert devoted his last 3 years to the care of his wife, Eulalie. They moved to Moorhead, MN in March of this year to spend their final years with family, especially their granddaughters. He became a Catholic at the age of 88 and loved learning about his Catholic faith. He had a passion for golf and hunting but had to give it up as his eyesight deteriorated. He filled that time with many card games with Eulalie. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Warren; and son, Robert Jacobs Jr. He is survived by his wife, Eulalie M. (Koehmstedt); daughter, Barbara Davies; daughter and son-in-law, Chrisse and Terry Welle; and granddaughters, Alexandra and Courtney. There will be a Prayer Vigil at St. Mary?s Cathedral, Fargo, ND at 7:40 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2008. The Funeral for Robert C. Jacobs will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2008 at St. Mary?s Cathedral. Burial will be at Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN at 12:00 noon Friday, November 14, 2008. Robert?s family would like to thank the staff of Eventide for befriending Robert and Eulalie. The family wants to acknowledge Cathy and Rick Weisser?long time friends, and Margaret Rafferty, for her time and devotion the past 6 months. A special thank you to their priest and friend, Rev. Richard M. Fineo for the care, the peace, and the prayers that he shared with Robert and Eulalie. We thank all of you for your constant prayers and support.
