Robert E. Krogen, 76, of Fargo, died on Sunday, May 11, 2008 at Meritcare Hospital in Fargo, ND, after a courageous battle with cancer. Bob was born to William and Agnes (Carlson) Krogen on June 27, 1931 in Fargo, ND. He attended Fargo public schools and graduated from Hanson Mechanical School in Fargo. He enlisted in the army in July of 1948 and served during the Korean conflict. He married Evelyn T. Miller on September 17, 1955 at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Ada, MN. They made their home in Fargo, where Bob worked for Alloway Manufacturing and Steiger Tractor. Bob retired and enjoyed 12 more years of working at the FargoDome. He was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church and had been a member of the KC?s, the American Legion, VFW, and the Eagles Club. Bob enjoyed traveling in the winter and spending summers at Long Lake, with family and friends. Bob?s favorite past time was watching the Legendary ?John Wayne? and reading Louis L?Amour Books. He is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn, of 52 years; daughters, Barbara (Nolan) Samb, Chippewa Falls, WI, Bonnie (Bruce) Kupperion, Fargo, ND; and son, Mark Krogen, Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Christopher, Elizabeth, John Samb and Robert Kupperion; 2 sisters, Lisa (Dallas) Fevig, Colorado Springs, CO, Norma Wiltse (Neil), Fargo, ND; 3 brothers, Charles (Dorothy) Krogen, Fargo, ND, Roy (Vivian) Krogen, Moorhead, MN, William Jr.(Carol) Krogen, Moorhead, MN He is preceded in death by his parents, Agnes and William Krogen; brother, Willard Krogen; and sisters, Pearl Fjeld and Frances Johnson. The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. There will be a prayer service in the church at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the church and one hour before the funeral in the Church. Burial will be at Holy Cross North Cemetery, Fargo. A special thank you to Father Asselin and Helen Kram of Holy Spirit Church, for their many visits and also to Dr. Louis Geeraerts, the staff at Roger Maris Cancer Center and MeritCare Hospital for all the special care they gave Bob and his family.
