Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. A great childhood friend while growing up in Dickinson. My sympathy goes out to all who knew Roiann. She will be missed.

  2. Those of us who grew up on 6th Avenue in Dickinson will smile each time we remember Roiann. Her shining face was in the mix whenever the neighborhood kids gathered. My sincerest sympathy to all who loved her.

  3. Roiann was a name and personality that I fondly remember from our childhood on 6th Ave in Dickinson. Her recent adventures into the world of rock climbing were inspiring to see on Facebook. My heart goes out to those she leaves behind. It is a tragic loss.

  4. Roiann was a great lady to work with while at the State Historical Society of ND in Bismarck. I have fond memories of this dear one.

  5. Roiann was a dear and thoughtful person. Her dedication to our tradition and interest in learning were special. We very much appreciated all that she brought to our Beth Israel Congregation when she lived in Greeley. We continued to miss her after her move north and were always glad for greetings and updates from her.
We extend our sincere condolences to Roiann’s family.

  6. Roiann was a classmate of mine in the Masters in Library and Information Management cohort that graduated 12-7-1996. She had a great smile.
One of the last classes we had the S.L.I.M dean came to Grand Forks to teach one of the last management classes. Dean Hale had been with us when we started in 1994 and saw us through the program. She asked us to share whether we felt we had changed in the program and if so, how.
Roiann raised her hand and began to speak struggling a bit to find the words for what she wanted to say. Finally she blurted out:
“I feel like I have developed a set of brass ovaries!”
The class roared, but we all knew what she meant because we felt it too.
    Rest in peace, my friend.

  7. We converted together. We learned so much in our classes and our travels to those classes. I had no idea your time would be so short. I miss you, Roiann. Sorry for your loss.

  8. Dear Roiann,

Farewell, good friend! I just found out. The world is a lot poorer without you and without your laugh, without your thoughts, without your love for archives. I will miss you, friend. Condolences to your husband and your nephews and others.
