Rose Hersch
Rose Hersch, 88, Fargo, ND, entered eternal life November 15, 2019.
Rosa Margaret Kopp was born on April 29, 1931 the 6th of 14 children in Raleigh, North Dakota, daughter of Adolph and Rufina (Wingenbach) Kopp.
Rose was delivered by her father on the family farm. As a young girl she attended school in Raleigh and helped her parents on the family farm and later in Kopp’s Food Center. This is where she learned her cooking, canning and butchering skills. Rose worked several jobs over the years, but her favorite was a cook. She married Joseph Hersch, August 7th, 1951 at St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church, Raleigh, ND. They moved to West Fargo and raised 4 children.
Rose was a loving caregiver to many. She loved serving others by cooking her special German dishes and baked goods. She became a second mom to many of her children’s friends. Rose had a heart of gold. Whether it was cooking, making afghans, working in the garden or playing with the grandchildren, she did it with loving care. This special woman will forever be remembered for her warmth, kindness, generosity, love and her smile by family and friends.
Rose is survived by her son and daughter, Doug Hersch (Jannie) West Fargo, ND and Diane Krile (Kevin) Hitterdal, MN; daughter-in-law, Jill Hersch; granddaughter-in-law, Megan Hersch; 9 grandchildren, Kristin Knorr (Mike), Kimberly Krile, Adam Hersch, Sydni May (Justin), Kelsey Dahl, Allie Uhlir (Jimmy), Stefanie Dahl, Terisa Loring (Martin), and Kevin Sjue; 9 great grandchildren, David Jr., Jackson, Madalyn, Alyssa, Max, Skyler, Jacob, Leila and Shelby; three sisters, Ann Collingwood, Sacramento, CA, Ida Kautzman, Mandan, ND and Joni Christopherson Mandan, ND; two brothers-in-law, Bruce Scharmer, Anoka, MN, and James Gerhardt, Raleigh, ND.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents; husband Joe; two sons, David and Danny; grandson David; seven sisters, Billie Klein, Linda Klein, Vi Scharmer, Alice Utter, Leona Gerhardt, Vicky Gerhardt, and Renee Powers; three brothers, Albin, Les, and Otto; seven brothers-in-law, Mark Klein, Mike Klein, Norm Collingwood, Steve Kautzman, David Utter, Chris Gerhardt, and Don Christopherson.

I grew up With the Hersch family and Rose was my 2nd Mom, my Heart Breaks as I write this, Truly a Great Loving Caring Lady who helped me several times when I was broken, I will never forget You Rose, always my Love. Doug,Diane and Family my heartfelt condolences.
