Roy Christianson

Roy Christianson, age 93, of Fargo, North Dakota, died on Tuesday, January 20, 2004, at Meritcare Hospital in Fargo. Roy was born on May 18, 1910, the son of Gunder and Ragnhild (Severinson) Christianson. He grew up in this area and attended school, prior to moving to Halstad, Minnesota, with his family. Roy was united in marriage to Dagny Hagen on August 10, 1942. After their marriage, Roy proudly served his country in the United States Army in the European Theater during WW II. After his discharge they moved to Felton, Minnesota, where Roy was a rural mail carrier for over 25 years, retiring in 1975. During his years in Felton, Roy served as choir director at Grace Lutheran Church in Ada, as well as was a member of the Heart of the Valley Golf Club in Ada. Roy and Dagny have been longtime residents of Fargo since their retirement. Roy is survived by his loving wife, Dagny of Fargo; his sister, Edna Byrd of Vincennes, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers and sisters, James, Sidney, Milton, Victor, Arnold, Alpha, Joyce, Vernon and Gerald.
