Ruby Bernstein

Ruby C. Bernstein, 92, Durbin, ND, died Thursday, June 19, 2008 at her home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Ruby was born to Olaf and Clara Sather November 27, 1915 in Lake Park, MN. She graduated Lake Park High School. She married Arthur Bernstein March 5, 1935. The couple farmed in Durbin Area. He died in 1990. She cooked at the Durbin School and then she was a cook at the Elim Nursing Home for a number of years, then worked as a cook at Villa Maria Nursing Home retiring at age of 68. She continued to live at Durbin till her death.
She survived by her children, Barbara (Garry) Burger, Kathleen Schauer, Bradley Bernstein, and William(Judy) Bernstein and 12 Grandchildren , 15 Great Grandchildren, and 4 Great Great Grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by: parents, husband, 4 brothers, Reuben (Ruby?s Twin), Harold, Arthur, and Wesley Sather, 2 sisters, Margaret Bordnen and Marie Schneider.
The Funeral for Ruby will be Tuesday, June 24th at 2:00 pm at Canaan Moravian Church, rural Davenport, ND. Visitation will be Monday 4-7pm at Fredrikson Funeral Chapel, Kindred, ND. The Prayer Service will be Monday at 7pm at the Chapel.

My sympathy to all of Ruby’s family at this sad time.
It has been many years since I last saw her, but her smile will always stay in my memory.
