Sara Smith
Sara Smith passed away peacefully at 94 years young.
She was born, raised, and lived her entire life in Fargo surrounded by family and friends. She was the life of the party and loved to make everyone laugh.
She was the youngest of 6 siblings and is lovingly survived by her niece and nephews: Julie (Allen) Engle, Perry (Linda) Smith, Paul (Gina) Smith all of Minneapolis, Randall Smith, Jacksonville, FL and Jeff Smith, Atlanta, GA.
She always found great joy in receiving pictures of her many great and great-great nieces and nephews. She maintained so many special friendships throughout her life that made her so happy. She will be missed and always live in our hearts.
Services will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center, Fargo. Interment at Fargo Hebrew Congregation Cemetery in Fargo.

Sara will be sadly missed at the Fargo Central High School Alumni luncheons in Detroit Lakes! She was such a happy, upbeat and smiling person. A very dear soul. My condolences to her family.
Our beautiful self proclaimed “Jewish Princess” will be so missed. She delighted so many with that voice, bawdy sense of humor and vast knowledge of all things Fargo.
Sara was a wonderful human being. She loved to have fun. She had a excellent sense of humor. One always felt welcomed in her presence. She was a true Fargo Central Midget. It was she who organized the popular Fargo Central Alumni Lakes Luncheons that are held each summer month at the Holiday Inn in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. It seemed that Sara knew everyone and
that every one knew her. I am proud to have been her friend. Rest in peace Sara.

and she asked about the Geller, family that graduated from Fargo Central
when I went to DL for the Summer get togethers, lunches at Holiday Inn

I first met Sara when my wife Helen was in Insurance Women, what an experience! Later in the 60’s I went to work at Metropolitan Savings and guess who had an office on the 2nd floor, now I got to “experience” Sara every work day of the week. What a great experience! Many, Many laughs and jokes. I’m sure she and Helen have already been laughing & joking. I would say RIP, but she seemed to always be at peace, don’t recall her ever resting. She was a great friend and person to be around.
You will be dearly missed sweet sweet Sara. We loved you so so much!! You adopted my kids as your own and they adopted you as well. Love you dearly
I was so fortunate to meet Sara while working at the airport. She always asked “How are my kids?” She loved hearing about my boys and the little shenanigan’s they would get themselves into. She would just sit and giggle about it.. She was like a grandma to my boys Gunnar and Jack. They were so fond of her and would ask about her often. You could always rely on Sara having a joke to keep the party going! I will miss her smile, her sense of humor,her loving personality and just her.

Sarah was one of 6 that would meet for lunch each month. She always enjoyed a good joke and had some good ones to tell also. We will miss her!
Dear sweet Sara, you were such a bright shining star whenever you graced our family with your presence. How you loved those chubby babies and stopping by the Ouellette home just to see if there were any babies to squeeze. We always loved having you join us at family parties. Your sweet smile and loving ways will be missed. Rest in peace. Hugs and prayers.

Sara has always been a friend of my parents and we would see her often growing up. As kids we called her “Plain ole Sara” so that we could tell her apart from our Aunt Sara. When she would call the house she would say its Plain ole Sara so we knew who to tell our folks was calling. She always had a smile and made us smile. Good bye Plain ole Sara.
Sara was so sweet & fun and always brought her signature dish kitchen which we enjoyed. Her smile and laugh will stay with me forever!
I remember Sara from my childhood, as her brother Nate and wife Bert lived down the street from where I grew up, and they were family friends, as was Sara. She always knew how to have a good time, and brought joy wherever she went. Her distinctive voice, friendly smile, and caring nature were wonderful. Now she is reunited with family, and organizing some fun event, I’m sure!

I absolutely adore this woman more than I can even explain in words… I just read this tonight and it’s Sunday the 24th so I missed her prayer service. Sarah was my babysitter growing up ….she was at my wedding and she was at my parents renewal. I will forever miss her.
I have known Sara a short time. I have found her delightful, kind, and a kindred spirit. My sympathy to Sara’s family . Rest In Peace !
Sara has been part of my life forever. During the many decades that she worked with my father in the Black Building, she was the cheerful welcoming presence I looked forward to seeing there. My dad always praised her ability to ably handle any and every situation that arose, something she proved when she basically ran the business at times when he was ill. Sara was very close to our family, sharing many dinners and keeping current with our lives and those of our children. No trip back to Fargo was complete without a visit together. I could always count on her wonderful smile, positive outlook, lively conversation and up-to-date news of family and friends. Sara’s passing leaves a real void. I treasure my memories of this very special person.

My heart goes out to you as you mourn Sara’s passing. She and my father, Al Edwards, were great friends. He passed away on January 4, 2019 at the age of 91. I called Sara to let her know the sad news about Dad. She was loving and kind in remembering Dad and my mother as wonderful friends. Dad was a staff vocalist at WDAY in Fargo. He kept in regular touch with Sara for 70 years. Dad cherished their friendship and thought the world of her. Please know that my family mourns with you and wishes you peace during this tender time of loss and remembrance.
