Sarah A. Kinzler

Sarah Anne Kinzler, 46, of Fargo, ND, left this earthly world peacefully with the angels rejoicing on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at Elim Care Center, surrounded by her loving family, her Elim family and under the wonderful care of Hospice. Sarah was born April 12, 1972, the youngest child of Rev. Francis and Velma (Johnson) Kinzler. She was born in Mayville, ND, and her birth was followed by a blizzard. Sarah began special education at the age of 3 at Starkweather, then Cando. She attended School at Valley City, Rugby, New Rockford, and she graduated from Fargo North High School in 1993. While attending school in Rugby, Sarah started participating in Special Olympics and attending Camp Grassick. At camp, she enjoyed the play that the campers put on at the end their time there. She really liked being the center of attention. 1993 found her moving out of her home with her mom and dad in Lidgerwood and moving into Svee Home and working at The Center in Fargo, doing a variety of tasks. When asked what she did, she would tell you about the people with whom she worked. Relationships were always more important to Sarah than what she did. Sarah loved to travel whenever and where ever she could with family. She went to Illinois, Kentucky, Iowa, Kansas City, the Black Hills, and Disney World, FL. Sarah loved to color, paint ceramics, Apples to Apples, Yatzee, and her favorite band was Kiss. She was very competitive and always wanted to “win.” In 2005, Sarah moved to Elim Care Center. She has had many friends, staff and resident, throughout the 13 years she lived there. Making others laugh and enjoy life as much as she did was her mission in life. She never met a stranger. Everyone was a friend until they proved otherwise. She is survived by her father, Rev. Francis Kinzler, Fargo, sisters: Beatrice Kinzler, Lennox, SD, Janice (David) Breker, Lidgerwood, ND, Mary Kinzler, Fargo, ND, and brother: Francis Kinzler, Jr., Devils Lake, ND, five nieces: Kathy (Adam) Walburn, Chas Ratliff (Dave Kling), Karen Breker, Kim Breker (Joseph Martinez), Amanda (Dillon) Evans, three great-nieces, and two great-nephews. She was proceeded in death by her mother, Velma Kinzler. The funeral will be Saturday, July 28, at 2:00 pm at Elim Care Center Chapel. Visitation will begin one hour before the service at 1:00 pm at Elim Chapel. Burial will take place at Pleasantview Cemetery, Lidgerwood, ND, at a later date. The family requests that memorials be given to Elim Care Center and to Hospice of the Red River Valley. The family thanks Elim Care for all their years of being a loving and caring home and family for Sarah. We also extend thanks to Hospice for the past two months of care for Sarah especially in the final hours of being with Sarah and our family.
