Sarina Johnson

sarina johnson

Sarina Kay Johnson, 52, of Moorhead, MN died Wednesday, April 18th, 2012.

Sarina was born June 15, 1959 to Gary and Doris (Sundquist) Johnson in McVille, ND.  Following high school, she attended Moorhead State University and earned a bachelors degree in Distributive Education.  Sarina later returned to MSU and earned her masters in Counseling.  She was employed by Community Living Services in Fargo.

Her Living Waters church family was very important to her, especially the students in her Christian Education classes, as she encouraged them to grow in their faith. Sarina’s faith was also evident in her volunteer work for various organizations. Music was an integral part of her life--enjoying listening to music, singing and playing the piano.

She loved camping, reading and family. Her nieces and nephews describe her unconditional love when they talk about their sweet Auntie Sarina as someone who could be counted on to attend their concerts, games, other special events and family gatherings.  She was an aunt who believed in the proverb that “only an aunt can hug like a mother, keep secrets like a sister and share love like a friend”.  Her hugs are already missed!

Sarina is survived by her parents; Gary and Doris Johnson, Twin Valley, MN; siblings, Allison (Jeff) Lindgren, Cathay, ND; Darin (Cheryl) Johnson, Halstad, MN; Kari (Charles) Mayer, Motley, MN; Gregg (Michelle) Johnson, Buxton, ND and Nicole (Shaun) Thompson, Thief River Falls, MN; 14 nieces and nephews, 3 great nieces and nephew, several aunts and uncles,  numerous cousins, dear friends, and her beloved cat, Minnie.

She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
