Sebastian L. Vogel, 88 of Fargo, died Thursday, April 19, 2007 in his home with his family under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Sebastian was born on July 10, 1918 in Fargo to Sebastian O. and Rose Vogel. He graduated from North Dakota Agricultural College and served in the Army Air Corp during WWII on a B-17 as a radio operator. He was shot down over France and escaped with the aide of the French Underground. He married Kathleen Chezick on June 11, 1943 in Fargo. Sebastian was a Professor of Agricultural Engineering at NDSU for over 25 years and then taught at Independent Study. He enjoyed farming in his spare time, woodworking and spending time with his family at Cotton Lake-water skiing at the age of 72. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill, Henry and John; sisters, Jane and Mary Rose and by his daughter, Patricia. Sebastian is survived by his wife, Kathleen of Fargo; children, Tom (Sally) of Yacolt, WA, Paul (Deborah) of Fargo, Janeen (Steve) Meihack of Bismarck, Timothy of Fargo, Beth (Kent) Stadsvold of Moorhead, Terese (Peter) Rollins of Ironwood, MI; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Grace Gribstein of California, Rose Anne (Ted) Millette of Fargo; brother, Lambert (Mary Ann) Vogel of Fargo. Memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley. Visitation: Sunday, April 22 from 5-7 pm at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo. Prayer Service: Sunday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Funeral Mass: Monday, April 23 at 2:00 pm at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Fargo. Interment: Holy Cross North Cemetery, Fargo. Arrangements entrusted to Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
