Sheila P. Kummeth, 75, died peacefully at Villa Maria in Fargo on Saturday, July 5, 2014 surrounded by her family and under the care of Hospice.

Sheila was born on December 12, 1938 in Fargo to Charles and Clarice Jones. She attended St. Mary’s Elementary and Shanley High School in Fargo. After high school she worked as a pediatric aid at St. John’s and St. Luke’s Hospital.

Sheila met her husband Bob in September, 1957. They were married at St. Mary’s Cathedral on June 20, 1959. She moved to Courtenay, ND with her husband, Bob in 1959 and from there to Milnor, ND in 1960. In 1961, they moved to Hankinson, ND where he taught at St. Francis Academy until it closed and they moved to Mapleton, ND. From there, she went with her husband to Mabel, MN, Glen Ulin, ND, and finally in 1980 they settled in LaMoure, ND. In 1999, they retired to Fargo, ND.

Sheila’s greatest joy came from family. She loved being a mother to her 6 children and a grandmother. Sheila loved to travel and see all the wonderful sights in this country and Europe, but she always wanted to go home because she knew there was family there and she looked forward to the next family event.

Sheila is survived by her husband Bob, and her children; Chuck (Angie), Lake Elmo, MN; Brian (Mary), Pocatello, ID; Steven, Jacksonville, FL; Jeff (Cindy), Fargo, ND; Tom (Lorrie), Maple Grove, MN; Susan (Brooks) Johnson, Fargo, ND and Lalita, Jacksonville, FL. She is also survived by her brother Nick (Tonette) Jones, Richmond, CA, sisters; Peg (Bing) Sylvester, Minneapolis, MN, Marie Ann, Minneapolis, MN and Mary Beth (Paul) Rydquist, Cloverdale, CA, sister-in-law, Dolores (Don) Uhen, Burlington, WI, 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Clarice Jones, Fargo, ND and her brother and sister-in-law, Dennis & Marie Jones, Grand Forks, ND.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice and/or Villa Maria Nursing home in Sheila’s name would be appreciated.
