Obituary

Sherian Ann (Avery) Kellenberger died September 9, 2016 in Moorhead, MN after a brief illness. Sherian was born March 23, 1948 in Portsmouth, Virginia, the daughter of William and Anna (Olson) Avery.

Sheri had the privilege of living in many places growing up as a child due to her father’s career in the Navy. She lived in Kentucky, California and Hawaii eventually returning to her mother’s home state of Minnesota. Sheri graduated from Lake Park High School in 1967, and also attended the State School of Science in Wahpeton for Nursing, and Moorhead State for Elementary Education.

In 1969, Sherian married Curtis Oland in Breckenridge, MN. They had 3 children together, and lived in Burnsville, MN, Lakeville, MN and Donnelly, MN.  Sheri worked a variety of part-time jobs while her children were in school such as a school secretary, and travel agent for AAA.  In 1986, Sherian married Mark Kellenberger.  They shared 2 children together.  They lived in Chanhassen, MN and Sabetha, KS.  Sherian then started her career as a Photographic Artist, and worked for many photographers.

One of Sheri’s greatest joys and accomplishment was raising her 5 children. She was also an avid reader, incredible cook, and gifted artist. She was talented at anything she tried.  The thing that she enjoyed most was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Sheri will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Lori (Robbie) Whitten of Moorhead, MN; sons: Brent Oland of Donnelly, MN; Todd Oland of Salem, OR; Alex (Brigitte) Kellenberger of Moorhead, MN; and Chase Kellenberger of Fargo, ND. Her grandsons: Colton (Kassandra) Zabel of Fargo; Justus Zabel of Moorhead, MN; Jordan Oland of Ortonville, MN; granddaughter Blair Whitten of Moorhead, MN; and great-grandchildren: Zoey, Kellan & Zenna Whitten of Moorhead,  MN; sister, Carol (Kermit) Johnson,  Davenport, ND; brothers: John (Peggy) Avery, Fergus Falls, MN, Keith Avery, Fargo, ND, and Steven (Debra) Avery, Deer Creek, MN.  She was preceded in death by her beloved mother Anna Olson, and father William Avery.

There will be a celebration of Sherian’s life at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo, ND, September 16, 2016 at 2 pm. The burial will follow at the Davenport Cemetery, Davenport, ND.

May God hold you all in his loving embrace at this most difficult time. Losing someone so dear and so close to your heart is painful, but know God has made a special place for Sheri to now rest in peace without pain or struggle. Words though comforting, are never enough to take away the pain you may now feel, just know Sheri was loved by so many others. My love and deepest sympathy and prayers go out to her siblings, children, grandchildren, and all others who her life has touched and will feel her loss.

My Grandmother Sheri Kellenberger was the most beautiful, wonderful, kind, intelligent, and self-sacrificing person on this planet. She taught me the importance of so many things and was always supportive of any ambition that I chose to pursue. She was a gift to this world and she continues to, and will forever, be missed. I love you, Grandma.
