Shirley Nipstad

Shirley Mae Nipstad, 82, of Fargo, ND died Friday, January 6, 2006 at Innovis Hospital, Fargo, ND. Shirley was born to Eluth and Olga (Johnson) Hanson on December 19, 1923 in Minneapolis, MN. She lived in International Falls, MN, and Delemere, ND then moved to Fargo where she graduated from Fargo High School in 1942. After graduation she worked at the Fargo Caf? and the Manchester Biscuit Company both in Fargo. She then moved to Portland, Oregon where she was a welder in the shipyards at Lockheed Shipyard. She moved back to Fargo in 1949 and then married Arnold Nipstad on April 14, 1951 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN on April 14, 1951. Arnold and Shirley moved to Kindred, ND where they farmed. She then was a mother of 3 sons and 2 daughters, a housewife and then worked at different cafes in the Kindred area after the children grew up. Arnold past away in 1990 and Keith, their son past away in 1991. She moved back to Fargo in 1994. Shirley loved to fish, played a lot of Bingo and was an excellent cook. Shirley is survived by her daughter Paulette ( Bob) Adkins, Wassila, AK, her sons Dennis (Alicia) Nipstad, Kindred, ND, Mark Nipstad and special friend Sandra Hall, Edinburg, ND and daughter Annette (Barry ) McNeal, Stirum, ND, a sister Doris Bau, Fargo, ND, 5 grandchildren, Annette Sedore, Nicole Wright, Daniel, Tiffany and Brian Nipstad and 4 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arnold, her son Keith, her brothers Harlen, Wes, Norman and Curtis and sister Delores.
