Shirley Ogaard, 68, 3526 18th Avenue South, Fargo, died Tuesday, June 24, 2003, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo.
Shirley St. Michael was born January 8, 1935, in Crookston, MN, to Emery and Alice (Boutain) St. Michael. She grew up on a farm near Crookston. In 6th grade, she and her family moved in to Crookston. She attended St. Joseph?s Academy and the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. She was united in marriage to Ray Ogaard on June 10, 1953, in the Cathedral. The couple lived in various areas until 1968 when they made their home in Minot, later moving to Fargo in 1990. She worked for Dr. Olson in Minot and was a homemaker in Fargo. She was active in Sts. Ann and Joachim Church, and at Our Lady of Grace in Minot.
She is survived by her children, Howard (Donna), Alexandria, MN, Lynn (Lynn) Bertsch, Minot, ND, Kevin (Jennifer), Carol Stream, IL, Kim (Larry) Bolin, Mesquite, TX, Jeff (Irene), Bremerton, WA, and Alison (Bryan) Schmidt, Horace, ND; one brother, Roger St. Michael, Phoenix, AZ; two sisters, Carol (Dick) Sausser, Bloomington, MN, and Bonnie (Irvine) Hood, Washington; mother, Alice St. Michael, Fargo; 15 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Sts. Ann and Joachim Catholic Church, Fargo. Visitation will be held Friday from 6-7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., in Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo. Visitation will also be held in the church one hour prior to services on Saturday. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Fargo.
