Stanley Kirkeby

Stanley Kirkeby Hillsboro, North Dakota Stanley passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2007 at the Hillsboro Medical Center Nursing Home at the age of 91. Stanley was born September 23, 1916 in Cooperstown, North Dakota. He attended school in Sutton, ND. His high school years were interrupted by going to a CC camp in Minnesota. He returned to Sutton and graduated from high school there in 1936. He married Eunice Hanson in 1944 and they farmed near Sutton until 1970 when they moved to Hillsboro. They owned the Sport Bar in Hillsboro for a time until he started to work for Agway, Inc. They also managed the Red Carpet apartments for many years. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Eunice of Hillsboro; daughter and son-in-law Judy and Henry Dykema of Grant, MI; grandsons Erik Dykema of Clifton, NJ and Karl Dykema of Grand Rapids, MI. Other survivors include two sisters-in-law Mildred Kirkeby of Cooperstown, ND and Ione Bjornson of Grafton, ND; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents Mike and Laura Kirkeby; infant daughter, Susan Kay; 1 sister, Lillian Meyers; 3 brothers, Irvin, Vernon, and infant brother Arthur.
