Steven R. Eddy, 62 of Moorhead, died Saturday, September 4, 2010 at his home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley after a long battle with coronary artery disease.

Steve was born on October 12, 1947 in Fargo to William and Marilyn (Bjorge) Eddy.  He grew up in Moorhead and attended Moorhead schools.  Steve married Mary Metzger on January 15, 1972 in Fargo.  He worked as parts manager for Northwestern Equipment for approximately 20 years, retiring in 1997.  Steve enjoyed fishing, sports and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.  He was also an avid collector of National Geographic.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Kim Gunderson.

Steve is survived by his wife, Mary of Moorhead; children, Hope (Mark) Heflin of Germantown, MD, Heather (Lee) McDonald of West Fargo, Chad (Jill) Eddy of Moorhead, Kara (Ryan) Jenkins of Germantown, MD, Vickie (Nate) Ostendorf of Moorhead, Wade (Stephanie) Eddy of Moorhead; grandchildren, Caden, Madison, Steven, Noah, Elsie, Kate and his sister, Robyn (John) Robertson of Danville, CA.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Sanford Health for their extraordinary care and allowing Steve to spend as much time as possible with his family.

    I am so sorry for your loss. I have fond memories from 4-H days. I think he was always a kid at heart and loved mischief and fun. He is now free of pain and the constraints of this world and his body.
