Sylvester Hirchert

Sylvester ?Sib? Hirchert, age 79 of Dilworth, MN passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2007 in his home. Sylvester was born on June 19, 1927 in the Twin Valley, MN area to George and Florence (Dobereiner) Hirchert. He attended school in Syre, MN. He worked various jobs prior to serving in the North Dakota Air National Guard for 37 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. Following his retirement he started his own upholstery business, Empire Upholstery. He married Adrienne Sauvageau on November 16, 1950 in Frazee, MN. They made their home in Dilworth, where they raised their family. Sib was an active member of St. Elizabeth?s Church and the community, serving as Fire Chief for several years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will always be remembered for his creative advice, sense of humor and his willingness to lend a helping hand. No matter who walked into his house, they were made to feel special. He was preceded in death by his wife, Adrienne; his parents; granddaughter, Trixie; 5 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Harold and Leslie and his sister, Bernice Sib is survived by his children, Tom (Ellen) Hirchert of Mission Viejo, CA; Terri (Bob) Jamieson of Castle Rock, CO; Steve (Sheri) Hirchert of Glyndon, MN; JoAnn (Donny) Welch of Glyndon, MN; Lois Hirchert of Glyndon, MN; Janet (Ron) Nordby of Dilworth, MN; Peggy (Guy) Musolino of Moorhead, MN; Laurie (Craig) Stuart of Dilworth, MN; and Kristine (Mike) Crabtree of Dilworth, MN; 26 grandchildren; and 28 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Grace Thornton of Twin Valley, MN. Visitation: Sunday, January 28 from 5-7 pm at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo and one hour prior to Mass in the church on Monday. Prayer Service: Sunday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Funeral Mass: Monday, January 29 at 11:00 am at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Dilworth. Interment: St. Joseph?s Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead, MN. Arrangements entrusted to Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
