Sylvia was born March 18, 1927 in Hatton, North Dakota. She was the daughter of Henry O. and Ragna Astrianna (Andreassen) Thompson. Sylvia graduated from Hatton high school in 1945. Sylvia was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great- grandmother. She was a wonderful mother who always showed others respect and dignity. Her faith kept her strong. Sylvia worked full time while raising her family but always had time to cook excellent meals, garden and help others in need. She loved to bake, sew and play board games with her boys. Music was her passion, she loved Lawrence Welk’s television show and would use that time to teach her boys how to dance. She either sang in the chorus or played the organ during church services at St. Mathews Church in Fargo. Her quick wit and smile were always appreciated. Sylvia worked for Addressograph-Multigraph in Fargo then owned and operated Sylvia’s Embossing Service in her home.
