Sylvia B. Miller, 76, Fargo, ND, formerly of Durbin, ND died Saturday, May 6, 2006 at Palliative Care Unit, MeritCare South, Fargo under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Sylvia was born November 20, 1929, in Mayville, ND to Arthur and Gertie (Carlson) Hanson. She attended Mayville Country School and graduated from Mayville High School in 1947, then attended Mayville State College. Sylvia moved to Fargo, ND and was employed by the City of Fargo, the Internal Revenue Service, and lived in California for a short time. Sylvia had been married to Robert Colliton in Fargo. She married Wilbert Miller, January 31, 1964 in Elim Lutheran Church, Fargo. The couple lived and farmed in the Durbin area until 1997 when they moved to Fargo. Sylvia was active in the Canaan Moravian Fellowship Circles, American Legion Auxiliary, Sons of Norway and the VFW Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband, Wilbert, daughter Barbara Dunbar, Fargo, son Steve (Sharon) Miller, Durbin, ND, three grandchildren P.J. Kvalsten, Kirsten Kvalsten and Molly Miller, one brother Andrew Hanson, Albuquerque, NM and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, and one brother Donald Hanson. The funeral service for Sylvia will be Thursday, May 11, 2006 at 11:00am at the Canaan Moravian Church, rural Davenport, ND. The prayer service will be Wednesday, May 10th at 7:00pm at Fredrikson Funeral Chapel, Kindred, ND. Visitation will be from 5-7pm at Fredrikson Funeral Chapel on Wednesday and one hour before the service on Thursday. The family of Sylvia would like to express their deepest thanks to the following organizations who cared and touched her; Roger Maris Cancer Center, Meritcare Hospital, SCCI Hospital and a special thanks to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Meritcare along with the Hospice professionals and volunteers.
