Thad A. Engberg

October 30, 1969 - December 26, 2019

Thad A. Engberg, 50, Fargo, peacefully passed away in his home from natural causes on December 26, 2019.

Thad Alan Engberg was born October 30, 1969 to Gary and Julie (Allmaras) Engberg in New Rockford, ND. He attended school and graduated from Maddock High School in 1988. He attended Valley City State University and participated in football and track there. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. Thad was a well respected athlete and recognized for his athletic abilities in golf, track, and football in both his high school and college careers.

He worked in sales and management for a short period of time, but then transitioned into working in the construction field with some of his best friends. He was a long time employee of Olaf Anderson and worked in various positions from laying concrete to crane operation.

Thad enjoyed all things sports, horse racing, his Harley Davidson, spending time with family and friends, attending the fair with his nieces, attending the Viking golf scramble, his motorcycle trips to Sturgis and living a simple life. He became friends with most everyone he met. He was a loving, thoughtful, gentle friend and loyal to the end as described by his friends. He was the first to visit when a child was born or if a loved one was ill/hospitalized. Thad never forgot a birthday and really cared for his friends and family who meant a lot to him.

Thad will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his parents Gary and Julie Engberg (Hankinson, ND); Daughter, Alexa (Fargo, ND); Sister, Melissa Engberg (Brian Marchel), Seattle, WA; Brother, Cole Engberg (Dacia Wisnewski) and four nieces: Marley, Skye, Reagan, and Winter (Fargo, ND); Brothers Blake Engberg (Baltimore, MD) and Seth Engberg (Hankinson, ND).

He is preceded in death by his grandparents; Marie (Driessen) and Fred Engberg, Carrington, ND: Anne (Schmidt) and Frank Allmaras, New Rockford; Uncles Fred and Ray Engberg (Carrington, ND); and Peter and Alan Allmaras (New Rockford, ND).

CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERVICE: 2 PM Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo – a gathering will be held one hour prior
