Theresa Bellemare

Theresa M. Bellemare, 92, passed away on December 31, 2019 at Farmstead Care in Moorhead, MN. She was born December 15, 1927 to Francis and Anna (Brunelle) Bellemare in Fargo, ND. She grew up on a farm near Wild Rice and graduated from St. Joseph’s School, Wild Rice, in 1946. Theresa graduated from St. Andrew’s School of Nursing, Bottineau, ND in 1950. She worked for a time at St. Andrew’s Hospital in Bottineau, then moved to Fargo where she worked at St. John’s Hospital. She later moved to Miles City, Montana where she worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital. In 1957, Theresa returned to Fargo where she worked at the VA until retiring in 1983. Theresa was a longtime, devoted member of St. Mary’s Cathedral and active with the Catholic Daughters. She also volunteered for several organizations, including Fraser. Theresa was an avid crafter who enjoyed quilting, sewing and crocheting. When she was on the farm, she loved to garden. Theresa had an adventurous side. She enjoyed her mystery trips at St. Mary’s and trips to Hankinson to visit the casino. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Dan, Hank, Max, Paul, Ed, Alice Germanson, Sr. Frances Ann, Fred, Franco, John, and an infant brother. She is survived by her sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews. She was a special and dear aunt who will be missed dearly. There will be a funeral Mass at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 6, 2020 at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Fargo with a visitation one hour prior.
