Thomas W. Fowler, 76, West Fargo, died Tuesday, December 14, 2004, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo.
Tom was born May 24, 1928, in Fargo, ND, to Clarence and Stephanie (Zelinski) Fowler. He graduated from Sacred Heart Academy (Shanley High School) in 1946. He graduated from North Dakota State University and took post-graduate work in Mathematics at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Tom taught high school mathematics at Clifford, ND, and DeForest, WI. He joined the U.S. Marines in 1951. He was stationed at San Diego, CA, Memphis, TN, and Korea. He trained at an ATL electronics school in California. He went overseas to Korea and did ground check radar for the jet airplanes during the war. Tom went from teaching school to farming in the Wheatland, ND, area for many years. He also worked for Building Sprinklers for 15 years. He retired in 1992.
Tom enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing cards with friends, and helping his nephew on the farm. He was a Knights of Columbus member since 1948 and also a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by one brother, Robert Fowler of West Fargo; two sisters, Frances Tompkins of West St. Paul, MN, and Helen Baumler of West Fargo; 18 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, George (Red) Fowler.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Shanley High School or Roger Maris Cancer Center.
Funeral: Monday at 12 Noon in St. Mary?s Cathedral, Fargo
Visitation: One hour prior to services on Monday in the church
Burial: Holy Cross Cemetery, Fargo
