Thomas Stickel

Thomas Peter Stickel, 59, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2014 at Sanford Hospital surrounded by his family.

Tom was born February 8, 1955 in Valley City, ND to Melvin and Theresa Stickel.  Tom was raised and educated in Jamestown, ND.  As a young man, Tom was a Cub Scout for 3 years, then became a Boy Scout and earned the rank of Eagle Scout with a Bronze Palm and Asst. Scout Master.  Tom served in the U.S. Navy from 1975 to 1980.  In September of 1982, Tom was united in marriage to Debby Jean Marchus.  They had two daughters. 

On August 24, 1987 Tom married Kim Westman and they made their home in the Fargo area.

Tom attended North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND and earned a degree in Diesel Mechanics in September of 1982.

Tom was a man who didn’t like to sit idle, therefore he had too many jobs to name.  His latest endeavors were with Berg Grain and Produce, the Bismarck, the Empire, and the maintenance and caretaker of the Twin Towers.  He also was doing what he loved, teaching others his skill of repair by helping his friend repair machines that no one else could at Busy Bubbles.

Tom is survived by his wife of 27 years, Kim; mother, Theresa Stickel, Fargo; two daughters, Christy (Travis) Haugen, Fargo, ND; and Kathy (Nick) Collins, Pueblo West, CO; three grandchildren, Preston, Kyrie and Eric; two brothers, Terry (Cora) Stickel, Lehr, ND; and Jim Stickel, Fargo; two sisters, Debbie Stickel and Joan Kamranian, both of Fargo.  He is also survived by his six nieces and nephews; nine great-nieces and nephews; and two great-great-nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his father, Mel; and brother, Jerry.
