Truman Braaten, age 77, of Fargo, ND passed away Thursday, September 18, 2008 at his home with his family by his side. Truman Braaten was born on February 28, 1931 in York, ND to Adolph and Mabel (Berven) Braaten. He attended school there until his family moved to Devils Lake, ND where he graduated from Central High School in 1950. Truman Braaten married Dolly Anderson at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Devils Lake, ND, on September 18, 1950. He entered the Air Force in 1951 and served in Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1955 and was a member of the Air National Guard ?Happy Hooligans? from 1970-1990. After completing his tour of duty, he attended Hanson?s Mechanical in Fargo and worked in Edmore, ND for seven years. They returned to Fargo in 1962 and Truman began working for Fargo Bakery. He also worked at Holsum Bakery for a time before joining Cass-Clay in 1970. Truman retired in 1990. He was a life member of the VFW, a member of the American Legion and a member of the AMVETS. He is survived by his wife: Dolly, Fargo; children: Trudi Dahl (Wayne) Fayetteville, AR, Jennifer Soland (Jeff) Harwood, ND, Melissa Ochoa (Adam) Fargo, ND; brothers: Clayton (Grayce) Bemidji, MN, Gilmore (Bonita) Hollister, MO; sisters: Marlys Hirn, Land O? Lakes, WI, Valerie Piatz (Fred) Carrington, ND; nine grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons: four sisters; and one brother. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 22, 2008 at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, on September 23, 2008 at Peace Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Interment will be at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at the Edmore, ND cemetery. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, ND.
