Vera M. Ove

Vera M. Ove, 81, a resident of The Evergreens of Moorhead, MN, died Sunday, April 24, 2005, in MeritCare Palliative Care Unit in Fargo, ND. Vera M. Elrod was born April 13, 1924, in Nebraska City, NE, the daughter of Arthur and Marie (Morris) Elrod. She grew up and graduated from high school there. She was united in marriage to Edward N. Ove Jr. on December 10, 1945, in Nebraska City. Edward worked for the Corps of Engineers, so the couple resided in several locations throughout their marriage. They first lived in Nebraska City then moved to Oacoma, SD, and later Pickston, SD. In 1955, they moved to Minot, ND, and lived there until moving to Lawrence, KS, in 1974. They later lived in Rolla, MO, and St. Louis, MO. She moved to Fargo after the death of her husband in 1992 to be near her family. She was a resident of The Evergreens, both in Fargo and Moorhead, for the last 2 2 years. While living in Minot, Vera was an active member of the PTA, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts. She also loved to play bridge. In Fargo, Vera was active in the Methodist Church, and loved to socialize with friends. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Merle) Odegard of Fargo; her son, William (Tammy) Ove of St. Peters, MN; and six grandchildren, Nielsen, Bradan, and Matt Ove, and Ashley, Andrew and Emily Odegard. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward; and her brother, Lloyd. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Roger Maris Cancer Center or Hospice of the Red River Valley.
