Verna Schossow

Verna Nell Schossow, RN Fargo, North Dakota Verna passed away peacefully on August 19, 2009 at ManorCare in her 52nd year, surrounded by the love of her family of friends. Born in Fargo, Verna is predeceased by her mother Sydney. She is survived by her father Edwin V. Schossow, sister Susan Wedberg, nieces Tara and Mandi and great-niece “Miss Ava”, all of Fargo, and special friends Brian Brogren, Marla Hayes, Rande and Barb, Sharry and Roger, Marvel and Diane. After graduating from St. Lukes’s School of Nursing, Verna took her healing skills to Indio, CA. A desire to be closer to family brought her back to Fargo. Shortly after her return, her strength of spirit helped her survive a life-threatening auto accident. A well-travelled woman and respected neurosurgical ICU nurse, Verna adopted her own family of friends from the Fargo area, across America, Canada, England, and New Zealand. She was a World Vision sponsor mother for many years. Verna’s strong spirit and light are missed now and forever. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Muscular Dystrophy Association would be appreciated. Verna answered phones for Jerry’s Telethons for several years. Memorial Service: 2 PM Monday, August 24, 2009 at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo Gathering: one hour prior to the service in the funeral home on Monday.
