Virginia M. Raymond, 82, of 1408 Oak Manor Ave, Fargo, died Sunday, August 31, 2003 at home with Hospice care. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 6 in Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo. Virginia Raymond was born June 14, 1921 to Arthur and Evelyn Cooper in Grand Forks, ND. She grew up there and attended Grand Forks schools, graduating from Central High School in June 1938. She attended the University of North Dakota for one year. She married Merritt Raymond in Crookston, MN on July 28, 1942. She lived in Grand Forks while Mr. Raymond served in the Korean War. She then joined him in Portland, Oregon. They returned to Grand Forks, ND, then moved to Chatfield, MN for a time. They then moved back to Grand Forks where they lived until 1966 when they moved to Fargo. Virginia was a woman who enjoyed bridge, lunch, reading, and family and friends very much. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merritt D. Raymond in March 1994, her daughter, Susan Rise, her sister, Jane Imbrie, and her parents. A very special thanks to her friends, Sue and Jan, and many more, who always kept her spirits up. Also thank you to the Hospice staff, Kari and Joanne for helping us survive this adventure week. She is survived by three daughters: Patty (Douglas) Barber, Edina, MN, Kathie Durben, Fargo, and Robin (Brian) Kowalski, Fridley, MN; 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
