Wade Farsdale

Wade L. Farsdale, 84, died Tuesday at Pelican Lake Health Care Center, Ashby, MN, formerly of Walcott, ND. Wade was born September 21, 1919 to Alfred and Mabel (Rudlang) Farsdale in Walcott, ND. He attended grade school and graduated from Walcott High School. He worked at Hustad - Kelley Auto Dealership in Fargo, ND, following high school. He then worked for Burtness & Wold Construction Company building roads, one of which was the Gol Road. He married Cordia Bakko November 9, 1940 at Walcott. He was drafted into the US Army during World War II and served on the Philippine Islands. Cordia and Wade moved to Walcott in 1972 and retired from farming in 1984. The farm in rural Walcott was homesteaded in 1877 by the Farsdale/Rudlang family (Centennial Homestead) and is the family farm today operated by the Farsdale Family. Cordia and Wade were married almost 64 years. Wade entered the Good Samaritan Care Center of Barnesville, MN in December 1996. In April 2001 he became a resident of the Pelican Lake Health Care Center in Ashby, MN where he died on October 28, 2003. Wade is survived by his wife, Cordia (Bakko) Farsdale, Walcott, ND, 2 Sons and 2 Daughters, Wayne (Marilyn) Farsdale, Walcott, ND, Judy (Jim) Overbeek, Marietta, GA. Sharon (Bruce) Lewis, Barnesville, MN and Roger (Mary) Farsdale, Underwood, MN and one brother Harold (Gert) Farsdale, Walcott, ND and 8 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. The Funeral for Wade L. Farsdale will be Saturday, 11am at the Walcott Lutheran Church, Walcott, ND and Visitation will be Friday from 4-7pm at Fredrikson Funeral Chapel, Kindred, ND, the prayer service will 7pm at Fredriksons.
