Wallace Leroy Solum was born in Hitterdal, MN on April 29, 1933. He left us to receive his angel wings on September the 7th of 2016. He served in the U.S. Army from June 1, 1953 until his honorable discharge in July 31, 1955. Afterwards he met the love of his life Maxine (Yeoman) and they were married September 23, 1957, celebrating almost 59 years together. They have four children; Perry Solum (Kim), Liz Everson, Therese Everson (Michael), and Melinda Walker (Glen). All together they had seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, all the great joys of his life. He worked most of his life as an accountant, finishing his career with the North Dakota Department of Transportation as a Driver License Examiner. In retirement he enjoyed the Detroit Lakes area. He loved the FM RedHawks and was a season ticket holder from the very beginning until his health failed him. He enjoyed traveling and visiting his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jewell and Alice (Bartness) and his grandson Jonathan. Memorial Service: Saturday September 10, 2106 at 2:00 pm at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center, with visitation starting at 1:00 pm.

  1. So sorry to hear the news about Wally. Scott and I sat next to Wally at the RedHawks games. We always enjoyed his company and missed him the last few years.
