Obituary

Wayne D. Thomas – age 78, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, January 3rd, 2018, at his home in Fargo, ND. He was born in Havana, SD on August 25th, 1939, to Frankie and Annie Thomas. Wayne attended school in Rutland, ND and resided in Cayuga. After beginning his career in construction, he married Arlene Allard on March 15th, 1962, in Bottineau, ND. Wayne and Arlene met at Stone Café in 1960, where she worked in Bottineau, while he was in town working on road construction.

Wayne started out working for the construction company William Collins at a young age, then FM Asphalt for some time, to retire with Aggregate in the fall of 2015. He was a dedicated construction worker for 59 years. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, loved talking about his cars with family and friends, working on his cars, and attending car shows. If you had a car story, you had a good friend in Wayne. He was a great man that would help anyone in need, always keeping a smile on his face.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Arlene Thomas of 55 years; daughters, Robin Barnes, Ronda Thomas, and Rori (Ernie) Carnes; granddaughters, Ashley Thomas (Brent Nielson), Laci Benjamin, Lexi Benjamin; many additional family members including his aunt, sister and brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frankie and Annie Thomas; as well as Alfred and Adeline Allard.
