Wendy Kay Oberg of Shelly, MN passed away on December 25, 2018. She was born in Frankfurt, Germany on February 18, 1959 to Earl and Edrie Oberg. As part of a military family, she lived in a variety of places during the early part of her life. At nine, she and her family moved to East Grand Forks from San Angelo, TX. Wendy graduated from East Grand Forks Senior High in 1978. Afterward, she earned a four-year degree with honors at Mayville State University. She was very proud of her business and accounting degree. Wendy was always a kind soul and loved arts and crafts. She also loved her pets—mostly dogs, adopting many during her lifetime. Wendy battled various medical conditions for nearly her entire life. Despite these challenges, she always tried to put her best foot forward and never gave up. Her ability to maintain a positive attitude would have not been possible without the medical professionals who helped her along the way. The Oberg family would also like to thank Linda Hoover for being a tireless advocate for Wendy. She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Edrie Oberg. She is survived by her significant other, Craig Swenson, her son, Wayne Oberg (Megan), her half-sister, Nancy Wendt, and her brother, Wayne Oberg. A memorial service for Wendy will be held on Saturday, January 12, at 2:00 p.m. at Boulger Funeral Home (123 10th St S, Fargo, ND 58103).

Guestbook

  1. I am so very sorry to learn of Wendy’s death. The Oberg’s were our friends, and I only need to look down the block a few houses and see what I still call the Oberg home. I continued to visit with Wendy after Earl and Elaine passed away, but lost touch after she moved. My sympathies to her son and brother Wayne. My heart is heavy. Shirlene

  2. Wayne; I am so saddened to hear of your loss. Although I never met your mother, I appreciate that she gave our world such a wonderful and strong son. Like the inspirational difference your mother has made through her positive attitude with challenges and adopting pets and kindness, you have begun on your journey to also make a positive difference in our world. Our thoughts are with you and your family during this time. May you find peace.

  3. Craig, Wayne, Wayne and Nancy,
So sorry to hear of Wendy’s passing and your loss. My deepest Sympathy and my God’s / Healing Grace be with you all and God’s Eternal Grace with Wendy…

  4. Wayne, So sorry to here of your Mothers passing, I went to school with Your mom & Uncle Wayne & just start chatting on facebook with Your Mom a while back ! She was very nice chat with on here ! May She Rest In Peace & Prayers to Your Family !

  5. I still remember when Wendy and her family moved to EGF in the mid 60’s and we were classmates together at Crestwood Elementary. I don’t believe I’ve seen Wendy since we graduated together in ’78 but I reached out to her on facebook just before the 40 year class reunion this last fall. I happened to think of her for some reason and thought it would be fun to catch up after all these years. She “friended” me but we didn’t have a chance to chat.

Wendy, Peace and Happiness to you. You’re beautiful.
