William "Bill" Witt

William “Bill” E. Witt passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Bethany Retirement Living, Fargo at the age of 72. Bill was born on August 22, 1943 in Halliday, North Dakota, the son of Reinhold and Lydia (Genther) Witt. He grew up on a farm in Halliday and later moved to a farm in Gackle, ND where he attended country school and later school in Streeter. Bill worked on a farm for a few years near Woodworth, ND before moving to Fargo in 1966. He worked as a mechanic and welder. He was employed at Fargo Iron and Metal, Frontier Manufacturing, Wesco and Swanson Equipment, retiring at the age of 65. Bill’s hobbies included working on tractors at Rollag and walking many miles every day. Bill is survived by his brother Simon Witt (West Fargo); sister, Esther Mason (Menomonie, WI); and dear friends, Virgil Musha and Lisa Kummer. He was preceded in death by his brother, Art Witt and sisters, Freida Sevik, Hertha Dewold, Hilda Lang and Lorraine Forvilly. FUNERAL: 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 18 at Boulger Funeral home with visitation one hour before the funeral service. BURIAL: 4:30 PM Saturday at Medina Cemetery in Medina, ND
